Based in Yaoundé, Intersteno Africa-Chapter (IAC) is a training center in stenotyping and ICT applied to writing, editing, digital archiving and subtitling in Africa. For several years, the IAC has advised, supported training, capacity building, the supply and maintenance of equipment, sometimes with the support of the international community.
What is stenotypy ?
In China, Europe and the USA, CASCAT has generated millions of decent jobs, both in the training of professionals (training schools), in the manufacturing of tools (machines and software) and in meeting coverage, subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing as well as cultural mix-up. The demand for qualified professionals remains very strong and exceeds the supply of services. Digital archiving is the newborn in terms of stenotypying opportunities.

Produce an accurate and faithful minutes of the meetings, wherever the spoken word needs to be transcrribed into text (Parliaments, Courts, Gendarmerie, Police, Board of Directors, Commission of Inquiry, Seminars, Municipal and Regional Councils, etc,) for immediate or futire exploitation:
Generate live or delayed subtitling in conferences, films and television broadcasts, for the benefit of the deaf and hard of hearing,
Facilitate cultural mix and digital archiving by embedding synchronized titles using time code, with delays unrivaled subtitling and ultra-fast search.
